Staunton mini-train derails, 4-year-old injured

STAUNTON, Va. (AP) — A Staunton police officer says mechanical failure is the likely cause of a mini-train derailment that injured a boy.

Officer T.E. Gibson tells The News Leader (http://bit.ly/1uZeRuA ) that the 4-year-old passenger lacerated his nose.

The Gypsy Express mini-train derailed Saturday afternoon as it passed through a tunnel at Gypsy Hill Park.

The mini-train is operated by a non-profit group of volunteers.
