Suns beat Nuggets; Gallinari has 17 in return

PHOENIX (AP) — Goran Dragic and Markieff Morris each scored 12 points to lead the Phoenix Suns past the Denver Nuggets, 97-89 in preseason action Friday night.

Gerald Green added 10 points, and Ty Warren and Anthony Tolliver each had 10 for the Suns.

Danilo Gallinari scored 17 points off the bench for the Nuggets in his first appearance since April 4, 2013, when he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee against the Dallas Mavericks.

Gallinari was 5 for 9 from the floor, including a pair of 3-pointers.

Timofey Mozgov added 14 points and Jusuf Nurkic had 12 rebounds for Denver.

Phoenix, which has won both of its preseason games, led by six at halftime but outscored Denver 28-18 in the third period and led by as many as 18 points.
