Central Arkansas dominates Houston Baptist 70-0

CONWAY, Ark. (AP) — Taylor Reed threw two touchdown passes and ran for a third as Central Arkansas shut out Houston Baptist 70-0 Saturday night.

Reed threw touchdowns of 36 yards to Desmond Smith and 46 to Damien Watts in the first quarter. Reed’s 6-yard scoring run was the first of five touchdowns in the second quarter by the Bears (4-3, 3-0 Southland).

Dominique Thomas, who finished with 89 yards on just five carries, added touchdown runs of 56 and 12 yards. Hayden Hildebrand tossed a 60-yard strike to Courtney Whitehead to make it 56-0 at halftime.

Reed was relieved early and combined with Hildebrand and Ryan Howard to go 15 of 17 for 287 yards with four touchdown passes.

Houston Baptist (1-5, 0-3) was limited to just 131 total yards. Ka’Darius Baker was 6 of 18 for 50 yards with four interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown by Ricky Wyatt.
