Bell Jr. leads Eastern Michigan over Buffalo 37-27

YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) — Reginald Bell Jr. ran for three touchdowns and threw for one more to lead Eastern Michigan over Buffalo 37-27 on Saturday.

Buffalo took an early 10-3 lead before Bell faked a dive on second-down, cut right then ran up the middle untouched for a 71-yard touchdown to pull the Eagles (2-4, 1-1 Mid-American Conference) within one, 10-9. Buffalo added a field goal before the Eagles scored 21-unanswered points. Ryan Brumfield bullied in from the 1, and then Bell ran for a 10-yard score and connected with David Gibson for a 23-yard TD strike.

Joe Licata threw a 50-yard touchdown pass for Buffalo to make it 30-21. Bell put it away with 2:25 to play, running nearly untouched for a 72-yard touchdown.

Bell finished with 144 yards passing and 202 yards on the ground.

Licata threw for 383 yards and three touchdowns to lead Buffalo (3-4, 1-2).
