Arkansas State rolls past Georgia State 52-10

ATLANTA (AP) — Quarterback Fredi Knighten accounted for four touchdowns and Michael Gordon ran for 188 yards and two scores as Arkansas State rolled past Georgia State 52-10 on Saturday.

Knighten was 20 of 26 for 215 yards with three touchdowns and also rushed for 93 yards.

The Red Wolves (4-2, 2-0 Sun Belt) jumped out to a 24-0 lead in the first quarter sparked by two Knighten touchdown passes and a 50-yard run by Gordon.

Knighten’s 51-yard scrambling score and an 11-yard touchdown run by Gordon made it 45-3 in the third quarter. After a 2-yard touchdown from Knighten to Warren Leapheart, Georgia State finally found the end zone on a 2-yard run by Gerald Howse with 3:49 remaining.

Nick Arbuckle completed 18 of 36 attempts for 162 yards and was sacked four times. The Panthers (1-5, 0-3) were held to 269 total yards in losing their fifth-straight game.
