WASHINGTON — A ceremonial flyover above Arlington, Virginia has been pushed to Saturday due to rain.
Twenty-five World War II-era aircraft will take off from Culpeper Regional Airport around noon, and fly in a special formation down the Potomac River. The aircraft were originally scheduled to take flight Friday.
The event will mark the first-ever flyover of the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery, according to a news release from AirSupport LLC.
The “Potomac Flight” is in honor of Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and should be visible from D.C., Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland, and the following areas in Virginia: Alexandria, Arlington and Rosslyn.
