Asset Inflation wins Belmont feature

NEW YORK (AP) — Asset Inflation extended his winning streak to three with another front-running victory Friday in the $65,000 allowance feature on the turf at Belmont Park.

The 4-year-old chestnut gelding beat Strong Impact by 4 1/2 lengths, his fourth win in seven races. Ridden by Javier Castellano for trainer Mike Maker, Asset Inflation, the 5-2 favorite, ran seven furlongs in 1:21.26 over the firm course. He paid $7.90, $4.30 and $3.20.

Strong Impact returned $4.30 and $3.40, and Dowse’s Beach paid $5 to show.
