Ebola scare draws hazmat team onto plane (Video)

WASHINGTON — These days, it’s right up there with joking about bombs in an airport security line: A passenger on a flight from Philadelphia to the Dominican Republic reportedly said he had Ebola.

ABC News reports that when the plane landed in Punta Cana, a team in hazmat suits boarded the plane in response to the supposed remark.

“It’s gonna look worse than it is,” the flight attendant tells the passengers in a video provided to ABC. She adds, “I think the man that has said [that he has Ebola] is an idiot.”

The flight attendant set the proper mood: No one seems particularly terrified when the team boards; some people can be seen smiling; others can be heard laughing.

Eventually, a passenger was evidently led out of the plane, saying, “I ain’t from Africa.” He’s informed “You don’t have to be anymore.” He is booed as he leaves.

Anyone who has sat on a plane a long time after it’s landed, unable to get off, can relate.
