RG3 does agility drills during Redskins practice

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Robert Griffin III took part in agility drills at Washington Redskins practice Wednesday as he works his way back from a dislocated ankle.

Griffin took part in stretching with his teammates, then went to an adjacent field and worked out with other injured players. It was the first time he has remained with the team beyond the stretching portion of a regular practice since he was hurt in Week 2.

He appeared to move well, high-stepping and moving laterally through a ladder drill.

“He’s taking it day by day and trying to get stronger,” coach Jay Gruden said.

Gruden has declined to give a timetable for Griffin’s return. The coach said Griffin would need “at least a week or two of good, full practice” before playing in a game.

The Redskins (1-5) are 0-3 without Griffin. They travel to Arizona to take on the Cardinals on Sunday.
