Prairie View beats Jackson State 48-30

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Jerry Lovelocke threw a go-ahead 23-yard touchdown pass, sparking a 21-point fourth quarter to lift Prairie View over Jackson State 48-30 on Saturday night.

LaMontiez Ivy was sacked and fumbled on Jackson State’s ensuing series. Prairie View (1-4, 1-3 Southwestern Athletic Conference) capitalized when Johnta Hebert ran for a 15-yard touchdown to give the Panthers a 41-30 lead with 8:36 remaining. Ivy threw an interception on the next series and Hebert answered with another touchdown run to cap the scoring.

Jarius Moore ran for two touchdowns and Ivy connected with Daniel Williams to give Jackson State (3-3, 1-2) a 27-17 halftime lead.

Prairie View scored a touchdown on its opening drive of the second half to pull within 27-24, and tied it at 27 with a field goal. Ryan Deising kicked a 43-yard field goal to put the Tigers up 30-24 before the Panthers pulled away.
