Police: Car plows into outside diners in Miami

MIAMI (AP) — Miami Police say a car plowed into seven people who were sitting at a pizza parlor’s outside tables.

Officer Kenia Fallat said the driver of the Toyota Camry said he lost control of the vehicle before hitting the patrons of La Pizzeria de Lemoni on Saturday afternoon.

Fallat said several people, including two of the vehicle’s passengers, were brought to the hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. She said the driver was not injured.

A waitress at the restaurant, Laura Prada, was quoted by the Miami Herald as saying that the car was driving fast.

The Herald quoted police as saying that witnesses saw the car strike a pole before barreling into the restaurant’s patrons.
