Rangers get Figaro on waiver claim from Brewers

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Texas Rangers have received right-hander Alfredo Figaro on a waiver claim from Milwaukee.

To make room for Figaro on its roster Thursday, Texas designated right-hander Wilmer Font for assignment.

The 30-year-old Figaro spent most of this season with Triple-A Nashville, going 5-2 with two saves and a 3.71 ERA in 42 games. He was 0-1 with a 7.27 ERA in six relief appearances over three stints with the Brewers.

In 52 major league games for Detroit from 2009-10 and Milwaukee the last two seasons, he is 5-8 with a save and a 5.04 ERA. He also pitched two seasons in Japan.

Font was 2-1 with a 3.48 ERA in 29 appearances for Double-A Frisco before season-ending surgery in August for a bone spur in his right elbow.
