American defender Jonathan Spector will be sidelined until the start of next year because of a thigh injury.
Birmingham manager Lee Clark said Thursday the 28-year-old from Arlington Heights, Illinois, was hurt during last weekend’s game against Millwall.
Clark says on the team’s website that “Spector will be out for at least three months. He’s torn a thigh muscle and a tendon.”
Spector has made 34 appearances for the U.S. national team and was part of its 2010 World Cup roster.
