ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Authorities are investigating a series of vandalism cases in northern Virginia, some of which include discriminatory language against Hindus.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office says the vandalism cases in the Ashburn area began in July and happened most recently this week.

Area resident Vidya Nair tells WRC-TV (http://bit.ly/1tYKxzI ) that she was walking with her children in Ashburn this week when she saw graffiti that read: “No Hindus allowed.”

Loudon County Sheriff Michael Chapman says the graffiti is disappointing and shows a lack of understanding of cultural diversity.

He says the sheriff’s office is taking the case “very seriously.”

The Brambleton Homeowners Association is offering a $500 reward for information leading to those responsible.
