Column: What Hope Solo can teach us

WASHINGTON — You may have recently heard about the case of Hope Solo, goalie for the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team, being charged in a domestic violence case. But the fact that you haven’t heard about it until recently has become the topic of much debate, as has the prevailing judgment of what should happen to Solo, one of the most popular female athletes in our country’s history.

USA Today’s Christine Brennan appeared live on WTOP Tuesday afternoon to discuss some of the particulars of the incident and the media’s reaction. She went into greater detail on the incident later in a follow-up phone call.
