Jaguars sign linebacker George, tight end Jacobs

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed rookie linebacker Jeremiah George from the New York Jets’ practice squad and rookie tight end Nic Jacobs off New Orleans’ practice squad.

The team also re-signed veteran safety Sherrod Martin, who was waived in final cuts earlier this month.

Jacksonville waived/injured safety Chris Prosinski, and waived tight end Marcel Jensen and receiver Kerry Taylor.

The team also signed fullback Eric Kettani to the practice squad, replacing defensive tackle DeAndre Coleman after he was signed by Miami.

George was a fifth-round draft pick by the Jets in 2014. Jacobs spent the preseason with the Saints after signing as an undrafted rookie. Martin was a second-round draft pick by Carolina in 2009. He played in 59 games and started 36 in four seasons.
