Texas State-Illinois game resumes after delay

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) — Texas State and Illinois have resumed their game after a rain and lightning delay of almost two hours.

The game was put on hold at 3:55 p.m. Central time as storms moved into the area. Heavy rain and lightning followed as players and fans evacuated the field and stands. The teams took the field again an hour and 57 minutes later.

The game began again with 13:35 left in the second quarter and Texas State (1-1) leading the Illini (2-1) 14-6.
