WASHINGTON — Drivers in D.C. are not necessarily known for their patience, but the results of one survey show drivers in the District are second-rudest in the country.

In a survey of 2,000 drivers nationwide, Insure.com found D.C. was only slightly less rude than drivers in Idaho.

The survey asked where the rudest drivers can be found and many said the national’s capital is home to impolite drivers. Also, drivers from Maryland, in particular, pointed the finger at District drivers.

Following Idaho and D.C., drivers told Insure.com they think the rudest drivers hail from New York, Wyoming and Massachusetts.

The least rude drivers are from North Dakota, Maine and New Hampshire.

Below are the top 10 rude driver states:

  1. Idaho
  2. Washington, D.C.
  3. New York
  4. Wyoming
  5. Massachusetts
  6. Delaware
  7. Vermont
  8. New Jersey
  9. Nevada
  10. Utah

Virginia was ranked 28th rudest and “most hated” by drivers from North Carolina. Maryland was ranked 32nd rudest and “most hated” by Pennsylvania drivers.

Insure.com also noted drivers in D.C. pay the highest average insurance premiums among the states on the top 10 “rudest drivers” list.
