Miami backup QB Olsen faces DUI, license charges

MIAMI (AP) — University of Miami backup quarterback Kevin Olsen has been arrested on charges of driving under the influence and possession of a fake or stolen driver’s license.

Miami-Dade County jail records show Olsen was booked at 4:11 a.m. Monday and was released on $6,000 bail. Police say Olsen failed field sobriety tests and had five different driver’s licenses on him.

It wasn’t clear if he had an attorney.

Athletic Director Blake James says Olsen was suspended indefinitely from the team pending further review.

The 19-year-old redshirt freshman from Wayne, New Jersey, was suspended for two games earlier this season for violating team rules. Olsen is currently fourth on the Hurricanes’ quarterback depth chart.

Olsen’s brother, Greg Olsen, is a former Miami standout who plays tight end for the NFL’s Carolina Panthers.
