Colts’ Jones injured in 2nd quarter of Eagles game

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Colts defensive lineman Arthur Jones will not return to Monday night’s game against Philadelphia.

He was carted off the field after his right leg appeared to get stuck in the turf midway through the second quarter and was taken for X-rays on his ankle.

After the play, Jones stayed on the ground, and then attempted to limp off the field with the help of two trainers. When he couldn’t make it to the sideline, the trainers called for a golf cart.

The team says Jones has a high right ankle sprain.

Jones was one of the Colts’ biggest offseason additions, giving them the big, versatile lineman coach Chuck Pagano wanted to solidify his defense in Indianapolis. Jones spent four seasons with the Ravens, and is a friend of Eagles running back LeSean McCoy.
