Sacred Heart beats Div. II Assumption 44-14

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) — RJ Noel threw two touchdown passes and ran for 131 yards to lead Sacred Heart to a 44-14 victory over Division II Assumption on a rainy Saturday night.

Noel threw both his TD passes for the first scores of the game, one to Moses Webb for 32 yards and another to Tyler Dube for 3. Sacred Heart jumped to a 14-0 lead with 5:35 left in the first quarter. Sean Bell added two touchdowns on 18- and 1-yard runs, and finished with 79 yards on 17 carries.

Chris Rogers’ three field goals brought him to a career 38, tying the Pioneer record held by Tim Redican.

The Greyhounds combined for 45-yards rushing, compared to 257 and three touchdowns on the ground for Sacred Heart (3-0).

Trevor Vasey threw for 140 yards and two touchdowns to lead Assumption (0-2).
