Quigg retains WBA super bantamweight title

MANCHESTER, England (AP) — British fighter Scott Quigg retained his WBA super bantamweight title when he stopped Stephane Jamoye of Belgium in the third round on Saturday.

Quigg put down Jamoye with a body shot, and referee Terry O’Connor waved the contest over.

Quigg’s successful fourth defense of the title he won in 2012 improved his record to 29-0 with 22 KOs. Jamoye dropped to 26-6 (16 KO).
