Morgan State beats Bowie State 28-3

BALTIMORE (AP) — Robert Council and Herb Walker Jr. each ran for two touchdowns to help Morgan State beat Division II Bowie State 27-3 on Saturday.

Walker, who had a career-high 271-yard game against Holy Cross last week, scored on runs of 28 and 33 yards in the fourth quarter. He gained 180 yards on 20 carries and the Bears (1-2) racked up 278 total yards rushing but only 18 in the air.

Council scored on runs of 6 and 7 yards, gained 73 yards on 12 carries, and was 2-for-10 for 18 yards passing.

Matt Goggans was 14 of 38 for 139 yards for Bowie State, who have yet to win under new head coach Lee Hull. Paul Eatman Jr. picked off a pass by Goggans to set up Walker’s first touchdown run.

Mario Diaz-Aviles put Bowie on the board with a 37-yard field goal in the first quarter.
