Eastern Kentucky routs Morehead State 55-13

RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) — Dy’Shawn Mobley ran for a 61-yard touchdown on the first play of the game, Bennie Coney threw two touchdown passes and Eastern Kentucky routed Morehead State 55-13 on Saturday night.

Coney threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Devin Borders, and a 37-yarder to Jeff Glover to give Eastern Kentucky a 39-0 lead at 8:18 in the second quarter. Mobley finished with six carries for 123 yards, all in the first half.

Jared McClain threw one pass, a 9-yard touchdown strike to Joel Brown and the Colonels led 46-0 at the half.

Austin Gahafer ran for a 1-yard touchdown for Morehead State (1-2). He threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Christian Robinson, but the Eagles missed the extra point and Tyrell Curry returned it for the Colonels to make it 48-13.

Eastern Kentucky (3-0) won its sixth straight home opener and is 3-0 for the first time since 1992.
