Police: 1 dead after shooting in NE Washington

WASHINGTON (AP) — Police in the District of Columbia are investigating after a fatal shooting on Clay Street in northeast Washington.

Police say they were called to the 5200 block of Clay Street northeast on Thursday evening for a report of shots fired. When police arrived they found 26-year-old Titus Jackson of northeast Washington on a sidewalk. Police spokeswoman Gwendolyn Crump says he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 202-727-9099.
