Pearl de Vere wins Los Alamitos feature

LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. (AP) — Pearl de Vere rallied to win the $47,854 feature by 1¼ lengths, giving apprentice jockey Drayden Van Dyke one of his two victories at Los Alamitos on Thursday.

The 4-year-old filly ran six furlongs in 1:08.73 and paid $14.20, $7.80 and $5 at 6-1 odds.

Winning Vision returned $17.20 and $7.60 at 20-1 odds, while On Golden Paid was another 4¾ lengths back in third and paid $4.60 to show at 9-1. Lucky S.J., the 2-1 favorite, finished last in her first loss after starting her career with two victories.

Pearl de Vere increased her career earnings to $133,888, with three wins in 17 starts.

Van Dyke also won the fifth race aboard Mia Luccia.
