Ovechkin returns to Caps, declares himself ready

ARLINGTON, Va. — After missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time in seven years and seeing a flurry of front office changes, Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin says it’s up to him and his teammates to turn things around this coming season.

“The responsibility is always on us,” Ovechkin said Thursday after hosting an on-ice clinic with children and adolescents from the American Special Hockey Association.
