ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley will be the keynote speaker at a Democratic dinner in Minnesota next month.

Ken Martin, chairman of Minnesota’s Democratic Party, made the announcement Wednesday about the Oct. 11 dinner at the Minneapolis Convention Center. He says the dinner attracts about 1,000 people.

O’Malley, whose term-limited tenure ends in January, has said he is considering running for president in 2016. He has kept a busy schedule of speaking engagements at Democratic dinners and fundraisers for Democratic candidates, including multiple stops in early primary-caucus states. He will return to New Hampshire for a Democratic dinner on Sept. 26.

The Minnesota event falls a week before O’Malley is scheduled to speak in North Carolina.

He was in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin last weekend.
