Chesterfield man cited for loaded gun at airport

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A Chesterfield County man faces a state weapons charge after a loaded gun was found in his carry-on bag at Richmond International Airport.

The Transportation Security Administration says a TSA officer staffing an X-ray machine discovered the gun at the airport’s security checkpoint on Monday. The .40-caliber handgun was loaded with eight rounds and one bullet in the chamber. The bag also contained another ammunition magazine loaded with nine rounds.

Airport police cited the man and confiscated the gun.
