Car hits Prince George’s school bus, kids taken to hospital

WASHINGTON – Several high school-aged students were hurt Tuesday afternoon after a passing car hit their school bus.

Prince George’s County Police say five or six students suffered minor injuries from the 4:40 p.m. wreck and were taken to the hospital.

The car tried to pass the Prince George’s County bus along Ritchie Marlboro Road near Westphalia Road in Upper Marlboro, and then hit the bus, which left the road, police say.

There were 45 students on board the bus at the time, according to Prince George’s County Fire.

The driver of the car also suffered minor injuries and was cited for several traffic violations.
