SIU rallies to beat Eastern Illinois 38-21

CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) — Malcolm Agnew ran for 147 yards and three touchdowns, Mark Iannotti threw for two more and Southern Illinois rallied in the second half to beat Eastern Illinois 38-21 on Saturday night.

Trailing 21-14 in the third quarter, SIU (2-0) scored 24 straight points to take control of the game and held Eastern Illinois scoreless in the second half to cement the win. Agnew had 18 carries in the game, punching in scores from the 2, 32 and 24. Iannotti was 25 of 34 for 233 yards and an interception.

LaSteven McKinney hauled in the go-ahead TD catch, a 19-yarder with 10:12 to go in the third quarter, and Hans Carmien had a 2-yard touchdown grab in the fourth. Thomas Kinney had a 50-yard field goal.

Andrew Manley was 19 of 30 for 240 yards, including a touchdown and two interceptions for Eastern Illinois (0-2), while Adam Drake had nine catches for 139 yards.
