Albany blanks Central Connecticut State, 19-0

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) — Will Fiacchi tossed a pair of second-quarter touchdown passes to Cole King as Albany took a 17-0 lead in the first half and maintained the shutout in the second for a 19-0 win at Central Connecticut Saturday night.

The victory gave Albany 100 wins as an FCS program and was the second straight to start the season under first-year coach Greg Gattuso.

Omar Osbourne carried 35 times for 110 yards for the Great Danes (2-0). King finished with five receptions for 96 yards while Fiacchi completed 13 of 28 attempts for 163 yards with one interception.

A week after stunning Towson in the season opener, Central Connecticut could not find the end zone in its home opener. Nick SanGiacomo was 19 of 41 for 174 yard passing, but the Blue Devils (1-1) managed just 21 total yards rushing.
