Texas center has bone surgery in left leg

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texas center Imani McGee-Stafford had surgery to reinforce the tibia in her left leg, the school announced Saturday.

Texas officials did not release details of whether McGee-Stafford was injured or what else may have prompted Friday’s surgery, other than to announce that she will begin rehabilitation immediately.

The 6-foot-7 junior from Los Angeles averaged 10.8 points and 7.3 rebounds last season as Texas went 22-12 last season.
