Dodgers OF Puig sidelined by stomach ailment

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Center fielder Yasiel Puig has been scratched from the Los Angeles Dodgers’ lineup because of a stomach ailment.

Manager Don Mattingly says Puig told trainer Stan Conte that he wasn’t feeling well after bunting drills. Mattingly says Puig was scheduled for an IV.

Joc Pederson made his third career start in center on Saturday night against Arizona.

Puig is batting .295 with 13 home runs and 59 RBIs in 128 games, to go along with 10 outfield assists. Last season, he had 19 homers, 42 RBIs and a .319 average in 104 games.

The NL West-leading Dodgers also selected the contract of outfielder Roger Bernadina from Triple-A Albuquerque and transferred right-hander Josh Beckett to the 60-day disabled list.
