2 drivers hurt when dump trucks collide

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says two dump truck drivers were injured when their vehicles collided head-on in Frederick.

It happened about noon Friday on Elmer Derr Road. Deputies say one truck traveling west crossed the center line and hit another truck traveling east. Authorities say both trucks are owned by Concrete General of Gaithersburg.

Deputies identified the drivers, both of whom work for Concrete General, as William L. Jackson of Frederick and Gene M. Wix of Martinsburg, West Virginia. Both men were taken to hospitals with what deputies say were injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.

The crash is under investigation.
