ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Maryland auditors have found the state’s Developmental Disabilities Administration has not substantially addressed a previous finding that it does not have procedures to verify consumers received services from providers as stipulated.

The Office of Legislative Audits released a follow-up review Tuesday to address findings of an October audit. The office had found the administration’s fiscal accountability and compliance rating was unsatisfactory.

In April, the agency indicated 10 findings had been corrected or that substantial progress had been made.

Auditors examined seven of those findings in the follow-up. They generally agreed with the administration, but there was one notable exception. It involves addressing shortcomings in verifying services received and that documentation for consumers’ Medicaid eligibility reassessments was obtained.

The administration says it is working on addressing the deficiencies.
