Va. worker dies after cable hits power line

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A Glen Allen man is dead after a cable he was towing came into contact with a power line.

The Amelia County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as 24-year-old William B. Seay.

The sheriff’s office tells The Richmond Times-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1zJyiqq ) that the accident occurred Wednesday at a construction site in Western Amelia County. Witnesses told authorities that a metal lift cable being towed by Seay came into contact with an overhead power line. The cable had been extended from a crane.

Seay suffered severe burn injuries and died at Southside Community Hospital in Farmville.
