LB Landisch expected to start for No. 14 Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Inside linebacker Derek Landisch is expected to start Saturday night when No. 14 Wisconsin faces No. 13 LSU in the season opener in Houston.

Landisch strained his right hamstring on Aug. 13 and missed about 10 days of practice. He worked a full session with the first-string defense Wednesday.

The senior is a key returnee on a defense replacing its front seven. Coordinator Dave Aranda said Landisch should be one of the Badgers’ most productive players at his best.

Landisch had 19 tackles and a sack in 10 games last season, including one start. He injured his ankle in the 2013 season opener and missed two games

The team left Thursday for Houston. Coach Gary Andersen said the Badgers overall were healthy.
