Hamilton breaks up Minor’s no-hit bid in 8th

CINCINNATI (AP) — Atlanta Braves left-hander Mike Minor lost his bid for a no-hitter when Cincinnati’s Billy Hamilton singled with two outs in the eighth inning.

Minor has walked four, but the Reds hadn’t come close to a hit until Hamilton lined a single to center on the left-hander’s 107th pitch, tying it at 1. Manager Fredi Gonzalez took Minor out after the single.

Minor has only one complete game in his career, a 3-1 loss to the White Sox last season.
