Pedestrian struck, killed trying to cross road

OVERLEA, Md. (AP) — Baltimore County Police say a man was struck and killed when he tried to cross Belair Road in Overlea.

It happened shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday. Police say 53-year-old Gary Leahey of Dundalk was crossing Belair Road just north of Elm Avenue when he was hit by a northbound car.

Officers say Leahey was taken to Franklin Square Hospital, where he died. The driver of the car that hit Leahey stayed at the scene.
