Filming held in Richmond for ‘On The Wing’

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — An independent family film starring television veterans Corbin Bernsen and Shirley Jones is being shot this week in Richmond.

“On The Wing” is about a boy who fights a U.S. senator’s plan to get access to oil-rich land and destroy a bald eagle habitat. Bernsen portrays the boy’s father who also is a U.S. senator. Jones portrays his wife.

The film was written, co-produced and co-directed by Jerry Casagrande of Alexandria.

Filming is being held around the state Capitol to depict scenes that take place in Washington, D.C. The Richmond Times-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/XvxxWj) reports much of the filming took place at a campus in northern Henrico County that serves children with special needs and their families.

The Virginia Film Office provided location, crew and casting help for the low-budget film.
