Authorities: body found in Manassas

MANASSAS, Va. (AP) — The body of a man has been found in Manassas and authorities are treating the death as suspicious.

Police say the man was found dead Sunday morning of apparent stab wounds in the 8900 block of Nicol Lane. Television station WTTG-TV reports the man’s body was found near a dumpster and was wrapped in a carpet.

City spokeswoman Patty Prince says the death is being treated as suspicious. Prince says police do not know how long the man had been dead before he was found.

Police have not identified the man.
