USS Abraham Lincoln undergoes command change

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (AP) — The USS Abraham Lincoln is undergoing a change in command.

The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier will get a new commanding officer on Thursday. A change of command ceremony is planned in Newport News, where the ship is undergoing a mid-life overhaul and refueling.

Capt. Karl Thomas will relinquish command to Capt. Ronald Ravelo.

Thomas will become the commanding officer of the USS Carl Vinson.
