RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Democrats in and around Richmond and Petersburg are set to pick a nominee to replace former state Sen. Henry Marsh.

Party members can vote Saturday at several polling locations throughout the 16th Senate District from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Running for the Democratic nomination are Del. Rosalyn Dance, Del. Delores McQuinn, former Richmond Mayor Rudy McCollum, and businesswoman Gerry Rawlinson.

The 80-year-old Marsh worked as a civil rights lawyer and was Richmond’s first black mayor before serving more than two decades in the state Senate. He was recently appointed by Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe to a $122,000-a-year position on the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.
