Matthews Co. deputy found fatally shot in camper

HUDGINS, Va. (AP) — Virginia State Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a part-time Matthews County deputy.

State police spokeswoman Corinne Geller says deputies found the body of T.E. Hudson in a camper on the property of a residence in Hudgins on Tuesday. Deputies went to the scene after the sheriff’s office received a report of a gunshot victim.

Geller says Hudson was a retired state police master trooper.
