Man pleads guilty to robbing 3 gas stations

BALTIMORE (AP) — A Mount airy man has pleaded guilty to robbing four gas stations in Carroll County during a 10-day crime spree.

Twenty-one-year-old Joshua Payne entered the pleas Wednesday in federal court in Baltimore. If a judge accepts the plea agreement, Payne will be sentenced to more than 13 in prison at sentencing Oct. 22.

According to the plea agreement, between Nov. 27 and Dec. 1, 2013, Payne robbed gas stations in Mount Airy, Eldersburg and Lisbon as gunpoint. Prosecutors say on Dec. 6, 2013, Payne robbed the Mount Airy gas station again, this time at knifepoint.
