Witness list released in McDonnell trial

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Federal prosecutors have filed a list of 61 potential witnesses in the corruption trial of former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and his wife.

Among those on the witness list are Maureen McDonnell and the couple’s three children, Sean, Rachel and Bobby.

The witness list and the government’s list of exhibits were filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Richmond before the opening of the McDonnells’ trial.

Bob and Maureen McDonnell are charged in a 14-count indictment with accepting more than $165,000 in gifts and loans from the CEO of a dietary supplements company in exchange for helping promote his products. Their federal trial was scheduled to begin Monday and is expected to last at least five weeks.
