Northern Minnesota’s Paul Bunyan Trail extended

BRAINERD, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says Paul Bunyan State Trail has now been extended to Crow Wing State Park in Brainerd.

The DNR says construction of a 6-mile paved trail segment connecting the trail to the park is complete, and the extension is open to the public.

That brings the total length of Paul Bunyan State Trail to 115 miles, not including a couple of short on-road connections through Baxter and Bemidji.

The trail extends to Lake Bemidji State Park, north of Bemidji, and is the longest of Minnesota’s 25 state trails.
