CINCINNATI (AP) — The Arizona Diamondbacks made an infield switch before the start of their series against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday, activating Jordan Pacheco from the 15-day disabled list and putting infielder Nick Evans on unconditional release waivers.

The Diamondbacks claimed Pacheco off waivers from Colorado on June 12. He made eight pinch-hit appearances, going 3 for 8, but developed tendinitis in his right shoulder. In 30 games with Colorado and Arizona, he’s batting .250 with seven doubles and eight RBIs.

Evans batted .271 with two doubles, two homers and seven RBIs in 17 games. He went 5 for 12 as a pinch hitter, including a three-run homer in the 10th inning for a 10-6 win over the Phillies on July 25.
