Sanchez goes on 7-day DL

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The Giants placed catcher Hector Sanchez on the 7-day disabled list with a mild concussion before their game against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday.

Sanchez left Friday night’s game against the Dodgers early after being struck in the face mask by a foul ball.

He is batting .196 with three homers and 28 RBIs. The Giants recalled catcher Andrew Susac from Triple-A Fresno to take his place on the 25-man roster.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Sanchez was feeling better but it was too early to tell how much time he would miss.
